Two New servers – Russia - North European

Dedicated servers for the Russian and North European playing population of Dota 2 are now live on the main client.

You will be able to sign up for games on these servers by selecting the new “Russia” option in your Match Making servers listing or by selecting “Stockholm” as your preferred region in a private match.

Russia and Northern Europe Server Region Now Live!

Our new Dota 2 dedicated server cluster located Stockholm, Sweden is now online for play in Dota 2 Test. You can try it out by selecting "Stockholm" as the server region when creating a practice lobby. You can select to be queued for matchmaking for these servers by selecting the "Russia" matchmaking group before you begin finding a match.

This server region was allocated for our customers specifically in Russia and Northern Europe. Please let us know what quality of connection you are getting to these servers and any issues that you encounter while playing there.

DotA 2 Server at Steam

A bit of information is available regarding the servers of the upcoming DotA 2. PlayDota forums member, Vtor67 found an hidden server of DotA 2 on Steam on an IP Address. The name of hosted server is “Valve DotA Server #2″ and the game is “Defense of the Ancients” which is obviously DotA 2. It has 12 slots available which means, 10 slots is for players and rest 2 are for observers. The latency of the server is surprisingly low for a DotA Genre game.

IceFrog approves on his profile comment that this server is being used for DotA 2 Beta testing by the development team.

If you want to see this server by yourself, do the following steps:

• Open Steam Client
• Click View > Servers
• Click the Favorites tab
• Click Add A Server
• Enter the IP address 67.135.39.161 into the text field
• Click Find Games At This Address
